Mary L. Roberts, 91, of Goshen, Indiana, passed away January 9, 2026 at East Lake Nursing Home and Rehabilitation, Elkhart.
She was born February 12, 1934 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, daughter of Gerben Zickterman and Anna (Booden) Zickterman.
On June 26, 1966 she married Gordon E. Roberts.
Mary is survived by her two daughters, Kathleen Rogers of Goshen, and Kerry Roberts of Hamburg, Germany; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; and all her siblings, Ruth Drenth, James, Philip, John, and Gerald Zichterman.
Mary earned her bachelor’s degree from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1963.
Mary was a gifted musician, who dedicated her life to music education and performance. She served as a music teacher in primary schools and shared her passion as a private piano teacher. Her talent as an organist and pianist was well-known throughout the community, where she played for St. James Episcopal Church, Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church, and at Goshen High School.
Mary also proudly served her country in the United States Air Force from 1953 to 1955.
Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory.
Her cremated remains will be buried at Culver Masonic Cemetery.
Memorial service will take place at a later date.
