Phillip Seitz

Phillip Seitz, age 86, passed away on March 18, 2026 at Sarasota Hospice House in Sarasota Florida.

He was born on July 11, 1939 in Elyria Ohio to Phillip and Mildred (Rahrig) Seitz.

He graduated from Bethany Christian High School in Goshen Indiana. He was a painter who retired from Saint Vrain Valley School District in Colorado. Later in life he was reunited with his high school sweetheart, Joyce, whom he later married.

He was preceded in death by his son Todd Seitz. He is survived by: Wife, Joyce Kauffman Seitz. Daughter: daughter, Laura Corry. Stepsons: Scott Kauffman, Rick Kauffman, Adam Kauffman. Stepdaughters Tina (Kauffman) Duncan, Tonya (Kauffman) Rutter. Step Grandchildren: Stephanie (Kauffman) Wilcox, Stacy Kauffman, Mackenzie (Kauffman) Slaven, Jordan (Kauffman) Hooley, Kaitlin Rockenbaugh, Olive Rockenbaugh, Maci Duncan, Addison Duncan, Taylor Rutter, Matthew Luger, Brianna Kelly, Savanna Rutter. Step Great Grandchildren: Braxton Wilcox, Bradyn Wilcox, Skyla Wilcox, Ryan England, Nicholas England, Atreyu Rutter, Finnley Kelly, Freya Kelly, Roman Kelly.

He was known for his acerbic humor and love for making jokes. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, nature watching during summers in Goshen Indiana, sunbathing during winters in Florida, collecting books, and was a voracious reader.

A memorial service will be held at Clinton Frame Church located at 63846 County Road 35, Goshen Indiana, on May 2, 2026 at 10:00 am.
