Goshen

Tippi Dawn Hooten, 60, of Goshen, Indiana, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026, at Majestic Care of Goshen.

She was born on July 12, 1965, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Gary Don Hooten and Elizabeth (Buchanan) Woodiel.

Tippi spent most of her life in Goshen, where she became a familiar and deeply loved part of the community. For more than 30 years, she worked as a waitress at Tony’s Famous Grill, where she touched countless lives. Known for her warm heart and genuine kindness, Tippi built lasting connections with her customers—many of whom would ask to be seated in her section just to see her. She took pride in caring for others and had a special way of making everyone feel welcome. Her easy conversation, bright smile, and loving spirit will never be forgotten. She loved butterflies, and the color purple always brought her happiness.

Tippi found joy in the simple things—watching movies, helping others, and collecting Native American items. She had a giving heart and a gentle soul, always ready to lend a hand or share a kind word. She will be remembered for the love she gave so freely and the warmth she brought into every room.

She is survived by her brothers, Tom L. (Amanda) Woodiel of Goshen and John (Lacey)Woodiel of Syracuse and the man she lovingly referred to as her father, Tom Woodiel of Apache Junction, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as the love of her life, Roy Loughner. Tippi and Roy shared more than 28 years together, filled with love, devotion, and companionship.

Though Tippi had no biological children, she was a mother and “Nana” in every way that mattered. She leaves behind Roy’s children—Elisha, Emily, Eric, and Tiffany—and many grandchildren, especially Ashlin, Roy, and Ray, whom she helped raise and who lovingly called her “Mom” and “Nana.” Her love for them was deep, constant, and unconditional.

Tippi also leaves behind many dear friends and extended family whose lives were made brighter by knowing her. She will be missed beyond words but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved her.

Funeral services will be announced at a later date. Burial will take place at Violett Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
