Colin L. Yoder

Owner/Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer

Colin is proud to be the 3rd generation of Yoder family funeral directors.
Born and raised in Goshen, Colin graduated from Bethany Christian High School in 2004, Bluffton University in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in religion, and from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 2009. After graduation, Colin began working full time at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.
Active in the community, Colin serves as the chairman of the Goshen City Cemetery Board of Trustees, is the Vice-President of the Goshen Noon Kiwanis Club, and was appointed by Goshen's City Council to serve on the Redevelopment Commission. Colin is also active in the Indiana Funeral Directors Association (IFDA), he has served on the board for ten years, and is currently the President of the IFDA.
Colin is married to Mackenzie, also a licensed funeral director, and they have a daughter, Natalie.

Mackenzie L. Yoder

Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer

Mackenzie grew up in Napoleon, Ohio. After pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, in Toledo, Mackenzie enrolled at Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 2008. She graduated from there with a Bachelor’s degree in Mortuary Science. Following graduation, she started working at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Homes until 2019. Mackenzie then joined Yoder-Culp in September of 2019, and also received her insurance license. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Goshen and currently serves on the board. Colin and Mackenzie have been married since 2010 and they have a daughter, Natalie. Mackenzie enjoys being with her family, working out- especially weight training and running, and also traveling.

Mackenzie has completed over 85 hours of specialized embalming and reconstructive training at the Fountain National Academy in Springfield, Missouri. The program focuses on specialized techniques that advance the skill level of a professional embalmer in the areas of general embalming and post-mortem reconstructive surgery. Reconstructive techniques are sometimes necessary to achieve an acceptable and identifiable appearance to enable viewing of the deceased by family and friends. Fountain National Academy’s world headquarters is based in Springfield, with a representative in Ireland and ambassadors in Australia and several other countries around the world. Instructor Vernie R. Fountain is internationally recognized for his expertise in the field, and Mackenzie has been to three of his seminars.

Because of this special training, Vernie states that Mackenzie’s participation in the program is an expression of untiring devotion and dedication to the highest standards of embalming and post-mortem reconstructive surgery care. Dedicated professional embalmers understand that performance of reconstructive surgery to achieve open casket viewing provides an important and powerful psychological benefit for grieving family and friends.

Casey E. Miller

Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer

Casey is a native of Goshen, graduating as valedictorian of the Goshen High School Class of 1986. In 1994 he graduated from Grace College with a bachelor's degree in math. He went on to study at Mid America College of Funeral Service, graduating in 2008 with a BS in Funeral Service Science. Casey has been with Yoder-Culp Funeral Home since January 2009.

Casey is married with two daughters and is an active member of First Baptist Church, Goshen.

Nathan Kline

Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer

Nathan was born and raised in Elkhart, graduating from Elkhart Memorial High School in 2013. After high school, he attended Mid-America College of Funeral Service graduating in 2015 with an Associates of Applied Science in Funeral Service. He started working in a funeral home in 2011 at the age of 16, through a high school internship program.

Nathan lives in Elkhart, and is a member of the Elkhart Conservation Club. He also has two cats, Maxine and DQ.

Nathan joined Yoder-Culp Funeral Home in January 2024.

Kathleen Matuszak

Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer

Kathleen Matuszak holds two Masters degrees in Public Affairs from Indiana University. One in Criminal Justice and the other in Public and Community Service Management. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Indiana University and in 2006 she completed her Associate’s Degree in Mortuary Science.

Kathleen served as a Police Officer and Detective with the St. Joseph County Police Department for seven years specializing in crimes against children. She has worked in the field of Mental Health for more than 20 years serving as Vice President of Treatment at Bashor Children’s Home, the Executive Director of Camelot Foster Care, the Director of Intensive Case Management for Children at Swanson Center, and the Executive Administrative Director for Madison Center’s Reginal Centers in Elkhart, Michigan City, Portage and LaPorte.

After obtaining her Mortuary Science Degree, Kathleen worked in Michigan and Indiana with Danielwicz Funeral Service as a trade embalmer/student. She was the General Manger for St. Joseph Funeral Home and Everstory Partners bot located in South Bend, Indiana. She has also served as an adjunct professor at Ivy Tech State College in East Chicago, Indiana teaching Grief Psychology, Funeral Directing, and Funeral Service Management to Mortuary Students. She is a Certified Crematory Operator. She is a past instructor for the Forever Learning Institute teaching about death, dying and the funeral industry. She continues to proudly serve as a Hospice Volunteer, doing so for more than 20 years.

She has served on the Funeral Director Advisory Board for the Indiana Donor Network and as a Board Member for Hightower Services Inc. and the Board of Directors for the Indiana Funeral Directors Association. In 2018, she was honored as a Lifetime Isaac Ball Fellow by the Indiana Funeral Directors Association. In 2021 she was recognized for her continued commitment and contributions to the work of the betterment of funeral service, being named a Diamond Fellow by the Indiana Funeral Education Foundation.

She was appointed by Governor Eric Holcomb to take a seat on the Indiana State Board for Funeral Home and Cemetery Service in 2019, In 2021 was appointed Vice Chair and in 2022 the Chair. In 2022 she represented the State of Indiana in Houston in Houston, Texas at the 188th Nation Conference for Funeral Service.

Kathleen hosted the #1 radio program in South Bend, Indiana in 2020, “Rest in Peace”, where she spoke about all aspects of the funeral industry, death, and dying to educate consumers on everything from Consumer Rights, Green Funerals, insight as to what it is really like to be a Funeral Director as well as the history of funeral service and embalming and how we got to be where we are today.

In 2021 she was honored as being selected as a Home Town Hero by Michiana News Channel and under her direction the St. Joseph Funeral Home and Cemetery was awarded the Pillar of the Community Award by the Better Business Bureau. In 2022 She was honored by the Indiana Donor Network as their Champion for Donation. In 2022 she and the St. Joseph Funeral Home were honored with the Award of Excellence by the Indiana Funeral Directors Association.

She is most proud of her two grown children, both who are married. Emily, serving as a Surgical Nurse in Apopka, Florida, and Bradley, who is following in her footsteps in the Funeral Industry in Indiana. She is a life-long resident of South Bend, Indiana with her husband of 33 years, who keeps her grounded and their 2-year-old Labradoodle, Margaret, who is training to become a therapeutic comfort dog.

Kathleen is honored to be a part of the Yoder Culp Funeral Home family and serve the families of Goshen.

Matt Deal

Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer

Matt was born and raised in Goshen, and graduated from Goshen High School in 1990. He received his Funeral Service degree from Vincennes University. Matt married his high school sweetheart, Dena, in 1994, and they reside in Goshen. They have two sons, two daughters-in-law, and currently one granddaughter! Matt collects vintage toys and games, and enjoys spending time with his family. He also likes to restore cars and DIY projects. Matt and Dena are members of Faith Lutheran Church. He joined Yoder-Culp Funeral Home in September 2024.

Amy Birky Mounsithiraj

Senior Administrative Assistant

A native of neighboring LaGrange County, Amy is a graduate of Bethany Christian High School and Hesston College, Kansas. She has called Goshen home since 1999.

Amy is married and has two sons.

Amy joined Yoder-Culp Funeral Home in 2012. She hopes whether she is answering the phone or processing paperwork behind the scenes, she can be of service to families during difficult times.

Blanca Muñoz ~ Hablo Español

Administrative Assistant

Blanca Muñoz is a Goshen High School graduate, class of 2000. Blanca has been with Yoder-Culp Funeral Home since 2021.

Prior to coming to the Yoder-Culp, she worked 21 years in manufacturing and management for a local company.

She is dedicated to helping our community by supporting Yoder-Culp funeral directors fulfill families' needs in every aspect of the memorial process.

She is originally of Mexico City, Mexico and can speak Spanish fluently.

She provides translation assistance for our families during international repatriation efforts. She believes the last thing families need to worry about during the difficult time of losing a loved one is providing their own translator. She looks forward to working and serving each family with utmost care and respect.

Blanca Muñoz se graduó de Goshen High School, generación 2000. Blanca ha estado en Yoder-Culp Funeral Home desde 2021.

Ethan Kertai

Pre-planning Specialist

Ethan joined Yoder-Culp Funeral Home at the end of 2021. He grew up in La Paz, IN and graduated from Laville High School in 2017. He attended and graduated from Judd Leighton School of Business and Economics at Indiana University-South Bend in 2022. During his time at Indiana University-South Bend, he began working for Palmer Funeral Homes where he became interested in Funeral Pre-Planning.

Ethan married his wife, Corinne, in July of 2023 and resides west of Goshen in La Paz.

Outside of work, Ethan stays involved at Laville High School, and spends time at his home church, Cornerstone Community Fellowship Church in La Paz.

Daton Lewis

Student

Daton grew up in Northwest Indiana graduating from South Newton High School in 2017. Daton began working in the funeral industry in 2017 and has been able to be a part of many different aspects of funeral service and takes great pride in helping families in their time of need. Currently enrolled at Worsham College of Mortuary Science, Daton is working towards earning his Associates degree in Mortuary Science. He is also a certified crematory operator, and received his certification from Cremation Association of North America (CANA). Daton is a member of Victory Baptist Church, DeMotte, where he serves in every capacity possible at the church with the direction of his grandfather who is the Pastor. Growing up in a farming community, Daton gained a passion for working on a grain farm, along with raising cattle until he felt he could make a greater impact by helping those in need after the passing of his grandfather in 2015. Currently a Goshen resident, Daton looks forward to serving the families of the local and surrounding area as the need arises. Daton enjoys traveling and being with his family every chance he gets.
