Woodrow "Woody" Wilson

March 11, 1926 — June 9, 2017

Woodrow “Woody” Wilson, 91, of Goshen, passed away Friday, June 9, 2017 at his home.

He was born March 11, 1926 in LaGrange to Robert and Augusta (Caldwell) Wilson.

On April 7, 1948 he married Ruth Gunderman in Elkhart.  She died February 7, 2017.

Survivors include a son, Dan (Marcia) Wilson of Goshen; a daughter, Sarah (Paul) Skiles of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.

An Army veteran of World War II, he received a Silver Star and two battle stars.

A lifelong area resident, Mr. Wilson was a welder for Atlas Tool & Die, Elkhart.

He enjoyed vacationing in the White Pine Colorado family cabin he had built.  His greatest joy was spending time with the entire family.

Friends may call Friday, June 16, 2017, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, where a 10 a.m., Saturday, June 17, funeral will be conducted.  Pastor Terry Gunderman, nephew, will officiate.

Burial will follow at West Goshen Cemetery, Goshen.

Memorial contributions may be given to Faith Mission, Elkhart.
