Wilma J. Smith

Wilma J. Smith, 76, of Goshen, passed away at her home Thursday, December 25, 2014. She was born July 12, 1938 in Dutton, Alabama to James and Bertie (Woolum) McGriff. On December 22, 1956 she married Alton "Leo" Smith in Dutton. He survives along with two sons, Ric (Cynthia) Smith of Muscatine, Iowa and Stuart (Beth) Smith of Pierceton; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Sandra (John) Ryan of Pisgah, Alabama, Kay Baker of Huntsville, Alabama and Virginia (Jerry) Farmer of Dutton, Alabama; and six brothers, Bill (Clara) McGriff of Gorham's Bluff, Alabama, Bobby (Kathy) McGriff of Minnesota, Larry (Lee) McGriff, ofAlbertville, Alabama, David (Toni) McGriff of Dutton, Alabama, Kenneth (Faye) McGriff of Huntsville, Alabama and Mark (Pam) McGriff of Dutton, Alabama. A Goshen resident since 1978, Mrs. Smith was a member of First Baptist Church, Goshen. A Tuesday, December 30, 2014, memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Goshen. Dr. Greggory Lanzen and Rev. Jim Shrock will officiate. Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory and burial will be at a later date in New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, Rainsville, Alabama.
