Willis A. "Jack" Pangburn

Willis A. “Jack” Pangburn, 88, of Goshen, died Friday afternoon, June 29, 2007, at The Maples at the Crossing in Goshen.   He was born in Mystic, Iowa, on September 3, 1918, to Alvin and Georgia (Miller) Pangburn.  He married Rosemary Hunter on June 15, 1940, in Goshen.  She died March 9, 1985.   A Mystic High School graduate, Mr. Pangburn, moved to Goshen in 1939, from Iowa.  He worked at Johnson Controls for 44 years as a Tool and Die maker, before retiring in 1983.   He was a member of the VFW, DAV, Legion and Moose, all of Goshen.  He volunteered for The Harvest Basket in Elkhart.   He is survived by two daughters, Marsha (Ron) Frey and Karen (Glen) Leer, both of Goshen; a son, Michael (Donna) Pangburn of Elkhart; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; son-in-law, LeRoy Miller of Goshen; and long time companion, Bernice Miller of Goshen.   He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary; two daughters, Judy Charles and Jackie Miller; three sisters, Enid Duley, Mary Bradley, and Fern Thoren; and a brother, Gale Pangburn.   Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Monday July 2, at the funeral home.   A 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 3, 2007, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Pastor Omer Nisley of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, Goshen, will officiate.   Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen.   Memorial contributions may be made to Lupus Foundation of America, American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
