Willie “Joe” Rickman, 87, of Brownsburg and formerly of Goshen, died June 3, 2022, at Brownsburg Meadows.
He was born January 11, 1935 in Dexter, Missouri to Joseph M and Ida E. (McClellan) Rickman.
He is survived by four daughters, Susan Rickman of Brownsburg, Cynthia (Doug) Schneider of Sand Creek, Michigan, Diane (Rick) Sartor of Toledo, Ohio and Patty Jones Hite of Goshen; five sons, John (Sandy) Rickman of Summerfield, Florida, Joseph M. Rickman and Edward Rickman, both of Toledo, Ohio, Jimmie (Vicki) Jones of Elkhart and Gerald Gilbert, Jr. of Battle Creek, Michigan; 21 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter and his dog, Sophie.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his two wives, Maxine A. (Sutherland) Rickman and Nancy (Small) Rickman; a daughter-in-law, Jody Rickman and siblings, Grace Shaw, Mabel Gray, Maxine Phelps, Betty Hopper, Judy Ott, Lillian N. Young, Ferrell, Carl, and Edward Rickman.
An area resident since 2003, he retired from Lippert as a truck driver.
He attended Pontiac High School, was an entrepreneur and enjoyed camping and training horses.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 11, 2022, from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Terry Tyler will officiate.
Cremation will follow the service and private graveside service will be held later at Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen.
Memorial gifts may be given to Elkhart County Humane Society.
