William James Templeton, 61, of Middlebury, died at his home Saturday morning, March 16, 2013. He had been in failing health since September 2010. He was born September 6, 1951 in Dayton, Ohio to Esco Willis and Kay Frances (Parr) Templeton. He married Pamela I. Willard June 26, 1971. She survives along with two sons, Bart (Dawn) Templeton of Middlebury and Brian (Rachel) Templeton of Bristol; a daughter, Brenda (Mike) Yoder of Millersburg; seven grandchildren, Gabe, Hannah, Myah, Cannon and Jayden Templeton and Seth and Madelyn Yoder; and two brothers, Larry Templeton of Pierceton and Kevin Templeton of Dunedin, Florida. A graduate of the first Wawasee High School class in 1969, Mr. Templeton attended and graduated from Lincoln Technical Institute, Indianapolis. He worked for Ryder Transportation Services for 39 years, retiring in 2011 as branch maintenance manager. He was a member of Dunlap United Methodist Church where he served as trustee. Mr. Templeton was an avid bass fisherman and was a member of the Warsaw Bass Masters from 1981 to 2009 and had served as a northern director for the Indiana Bass Federation. He golfed for many years in the Wednesday night golf league at Raber's Golf Course and volunteered as a coach with Little League Baseball. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2013, funeral service will be conducted. Rev. Joe Smith, Dunlap United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in North Webster Cemetery, Mock Addition. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Lung Association or Elkhart County 4-H fishing or ATV clubs.
