William S. Bontrager, 74, of Goshen, died early Tuesday morning, January 1, 2013, at Greencroft Healthcare. He was born April 21, 1938 to Samuel and Fannie (Bontrager) Bontrager in Centerville, Michigan. He married Wilma K. Golden on June 20, 1965, in Mexico, Missouri. She died June 8, 1995. He is survived by two daughters, Joyce K. Stamper of Elkhart and Barbara Knight of Goshen; two sons, Michael W. Bontrager of Millersburg, and William (Casie) Bontrager, Jr. of Goshen; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Edna (Tobie) Yoder of Colon, Michigan and Lizzie (Albert) Hochstetler of Sturgis, Michigan; and three brothers, Henry (Dorothy) Bontrager of Wisconsin, Menno Bontrager of Burr Oak, Michigan and Amos (Lillian) Bontrager of Goshen. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and six siblings, Christ, Levi and Rueben Bontrager, Anna Stauffer, Katie Hochstetler, and a half sister, Nancy. A four year resident of the area and a member of the New Paris Church of the Brethren, he worked in the manufactured housing industry. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 1 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2013, funeral will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Stan Godfrey, New Paris Church of the Brethren, will officiate. Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
