William L. Hooley

April 30, 1929 — February 13, 2007

William L. Hooley, 77, of Goshen, died early Tuesday, February 13, 2007, at his home after a one year illness.   He was born in Goshen, on April 30, 1929, to Amos Hooley and Margaret (Price) Brown.  On February 26, 1955 in Angola, he married Della Mae “Babs” Rheinheimer.  She survives.   A 1947 graduate of Goshen High School, Mr. Hooley served in the US Army during the Korean War.  He was a member of the American Legion, Goshen, and donated blood regularly to the American Red Cross.  He enjoyed bird watching, genealogy and Indiana University basketball.   He is survived by his wife, Babs; two sons, Joseph (Drue) Hooley of Atlanta, Georgia, and Stephen (Susanna) Hooley of Goshen; and seven grandchildren.   He was preceded in death by a son, Dr. William “Mike” Hooley in 2002.   Friends will be received 4 to 6 p.m., Saturday, February 17, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.   A private family memorial service will be held at a later date and burial will be in West Goshen Cemetery.   Memorial contributions may be made to the United Cancer Services of Elkhart County.
