William Gaines

William "Steve" Gaines, 57, of Goshen, died unexpectedly early Sunday morning, October 9, 2011, at IU Health Goshen Hospital in the emergency room. He was born December 30, 1953, in Jeffersonville, to the late Willie and Lola (McBride) Gaines. He married Anne Marie Wyant August 2, 1975 in Nappanee. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Matthew Gaines of Goshen; a daughter, Michelle Gaines of Phoenix, Arizona; and two sisters, Kathy (Wayne) Yoder of Walker, Louisiana and Kimberly (Teddy) Devall of Gonzolas, Louisiana. The pastor of Landmark Apostolic Church, Pastor Steve also worked 17 years for the Goshen Post Office, until 2000. He owned 123 Realty and had worked for Mast Insurance. He was a caring, loving father that enjoyed involving his family in everything he did. He enjoyed the fellowship of his fellow ministers and church family. He was also involved in foreign missions, which took him to 11 countries. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, October 13, and one hour prior to the service, all at the church. An 11:30 a.m., Friday, October 14, 2011, funeral service will be conducted at the Bible Way Apostolic Church, 26148 U.S. 6, Nappanee. Elder John Shafer will officiate. Burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.
