William Dalton Looney

December 27, 1927 — April 19, 2007

William Dalton Looney, 79, of Rome City, Indiana, died Thursday afternoon, April 19, 2007, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, where he had been a patient for six days.   He was born December 27, 1927, in Limestone County, Alabama, to Edgar R. and Lillie Lee (Collins) Looney.  He married Elizabeth Miller on October 1, 1988, in LaGrange, Indiana.  She survives.   Mr. Looney retired from Coachmen Industries in 1974 and moved to Rome City eight years ago.  He enjoyed fishing and his teacup Chihuahuas.   He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; five sons, James Looney of Saco, Maine, William Looney of Luke Looney, both of Goshen, Jerry (Betty) Looney of Argos, Indiana, and Mike (Marilyn) Looney of Etna Green, Indiana; two daughters, Marjorie (Jud) Flowers of McAllen, Texas, and Janette Yoder of Goshen; 20 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by two sisters, Alma Moore of Hardy, Arkansas, and Joyce Linville of Elkhart, Indiana; and two brothers, Alfred and Houston Looney, both of Goshen.   He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Ruth Myers, Flossie Marie Luna, and Frances Reynolds; and seven brothers, Robert Jr., Richard, Vernon, Melvin, Glen, Dwight, and Henry Looney.   Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, April 23, at the funeral home.   A 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2007, funeral service will be held at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Pastor Lenny Krebs of the Benton Free Baptist Church will officiate.   Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.   Memorial contributions may be designated to the Looney Family.
