William Allen Cox

William A. Cox, 89, of Mishawaka, died Monday, July 3, 2023, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, surrounded by his beloved family.

He was born July 8, 1933 in Goshen.

Bill is survived by his wife Jean; children, Shari Kidwell, Niles, Michigan, Ann Prough and Debra (Ernie) Fried, both of Goshen, Mike Swihart, Syracuse, and Sheri Howland and Shan Layne, both of Mishawaka, and Keely (John) DaeMeulenaere, Osceola; nine grandchildren, including Brian (Heidi) Bedwell and Brad (Trish) Bedwell; 17 great-grandchildren, including Harlie Norman; and five great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Burton J. Cox; mother, Goldie (Rader) Cox; and two sisters.

A U.S. Army veteran, Bill worked as a signalman for Conrail Railroad.

According to his wishes, cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory, Goshen.

A graveside service, with military honors, will be held Monday, July 17, at 1 p.m., at Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen.
