Weldon A. Berkey, 86, of Goshen, died Thursday, December 10, 2020, at Greencroft Healthcare.

He was born December 7, 1934 in Goshen to Arthur and Lucille (Hess) Berkey.

On March 28, 1958 he married Jacquelyn M. Gray in Goshen.

She survives along with two children, Sheila (John) Cuneo of Derry, New Hampshire and Scott (Laura) Berkey of Goshen; five grandchildren, Matt and Evan Cuneo, Heather (Alex) Doberenz, Jennifer (Chase) Borden and Logan (Krista) Berkey; three great-grandchildren, Elliott and Alyah Doberenz and Nora Borden; and a sister, Esther Cender of Goshen.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Norma Miller.

Mr. Berkey served two years of 1W service in Portland, Maine and worked as parts manager for Shasta Industries.  He was an active member of East Goshen Mennonite Church where he led the youth group, taught Sunday school and volunteered at the Bread of Life Pantry.

Mr. Berkey enjoyed bowling, playing and coaching fast pitch softball, fishing and tinkering with boats.  He enjoyed Bethel College and Indiana University basketball.

Visitation will be Monday, December 14, 2020, from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Pastors Merle Hostetler and Naomi Yoder will officiate.  The service will be live streamed through East Goshen Mennonite Church website.

Burial will follow in Hess Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given to East Goshen Mennonite Church.
