Wayne J. Krauter

Wayne J. Krauter, 85, of Elkhart, died Friday morning, January 1, 2010, at the home of his daughter, Jane Kauffman. He was born in New Paris, Indiana, on April 7, 1924, to the late Ernest and Sarah (Kaiser) Krauter.  He married Georgene Myers on November 20, 1956, in Angola, Indiana.  She survives. Also surviving are six children, Kirby Krauter of Boca Raton, Florida, Kris (Randy) Chupp of Bristol, Gaye (Gary) Hambrice of Goshen, Jane Kauffman of Goshen, Klark (Shawn) Krauter of Tuscon, Arizona, and Larry Krauter of Warsaw; five grandchildren, Kourtney Chupp, Lon, Genean and Shayn Hambrice, and Tyler Kauffman; and a brother, John (Claudette) Krauter of Canada. He was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers. Mr. Krauter worked as a sales manager in the RV industry.  He graduated from New Paris High School, served as a Second Lieutenant during World War II, and was a member of the Goshen VFW. Friends may call 9 to 11 a.m., Friday, January 8, 2010, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where an 11:00 a.m., memorial service will be conducted.  John Piecuch of the Goshen VFW will officiate. There will be a private family graveside service at Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be given to Center for Hospice and Palliative Care of Elkhart County.
