Wayne Edward Harshberger

Wayne E. Harshberger, 84, of Goshen,  died Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at his home surrounded by family.

He was born May 20, 1937, in Goshen to Marion Leslie and Sarah (Mullet) Harshberger.

On December 21, 1966, he married Janet Ruth Whitelock in New Haven. She died October 16, 2021.

Survivors include a son, Wayne (Polly) Harshberger, II of Oswego, Illinois; three grandchildren, Beth, John and Katie; a brother, Joseph (Roberta) Harshberger of Goshen; and two sisters, Carol Reed of Midland, Michigan and Phyllis (Paul) Van Heldorf of New Braunfels, Texas. Wayne was the oldest of 63 cousins.

Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Loretta McCreary and Jean Scott.

Mr. Harshberger was a U.S. Army veteran. He was self-employed as a stone mason. In retirement he enjoyed his life as an artist, working with his hands, carving wood and stone.

Wayne was also a former member of the Goshen Sunrisers Kiwanis Club.

According to his wishes, no services will be held. Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory.
