Wayne E. Beachy, 71, of Goshen died Sunday, August 17, 2025 at his home.
He was born August 31, 1953 in Goshen.
On October 24, 1981 he married Emma Beachy in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
She survives along with three children, Melanie Beachy, Anthony Beachy, and Austin (Rachel) Beachy; and four grandchildren, Judah, Connor, Elizabeth and Bennett Beachy, all from Goshen.
Also surviving is a sister, Linda (Craig) Miller, Amboy, IN; brothers, Keith Beachy, Mission, Texas; and Karol (Patty) Beachy, Nappanee; a sister-in-law, Anna Beachy, Wakarusa; and step-siblings, Joanna Becker, Houston, Texas, Julie Lee, San Diego, California and Jerald Miller, Wolcottville.
He was preceded in death by his father, Menno Beachy, Jr.; mother, Velda (Slabach) Miller; step-father, Lloyd A. Miller; step-mother, Nancy (Wohl) Beachy; brother, Kenneth Beachy; and best buddy, Wayne Slabach. Father In-law Joni Beachy, Mother in law Alberta (Beachy)Miller and Step Father in-law, John O Miller.
Wayne received his bachelor’s degree from Eastern Mennonite (College) University, Harrisonburg, Virginia, and was actively involved in volunteer service programs.
He was a devoted Christian and long-time Gospel Echoes Prison Ministry volunteer, mentoring prisoners and grading Bible Study curriculum.
He spent time in Mexico doing mission work and volunteering at an orphanage. He and Emma also did missionary work in Alice, Texas.
Wayne was a “cowboy” theologian, who has finally been set free.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 20, 2025 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Maple City Chapel, Goshen.
There will be also be an hour of visitation prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service Thursday, August 21, 2025 also at Maple City Chapel.
Burial will follow at Miller 8 Square Cemetery, Goshen.
