Warren Perry Vance, 64, of Goshen, died at his home Thursday, March 12, 2015 after a courageous battle with glio blastoma brain cancer that was diagnosed in May 2013. He was born July 21, 1950 in South Bend to William Paul and Helen Isabelle (Conrad) Vance, who preceded him in death. On June 22, 1974 he married Diana Sager. She preceded him in death November 29, 1980. He later married Cindy Hartsough in Goshen on May 26, 1984. She survives along with two daughters, Laura (Tyler) Liu, of Nunica, Michigan, and Stacy (Derek) Hammerstein, of Goshen; six grandchildren, Asher, Noah, Jason, William, Lucas and Grace; a sister, Sharon Vance, of Glendale Heights, Illionis; and a twin brother, Wayne (Debra) Vance, of Westfield. A 1968 Laville High School graduate, Warren received his bachelor's degree at Indiana Central, now University of Indianapolis, in 1972, followed by a master's degree from Ball State University, Muncie, in 1977. Warren was a teacher and coach at Fairfield Jr./Sr. High School, as well as a counselor and coach at Jimtown High School. He also worked for 10 years at IU Health Goshen Home Medical, formerly Park Home Medical, doing equipment service and set up. He was a precise and meticulous worker in all he did. He enjoyed many things in life including; his grandchildren; sports; his Chevrolet Avalanche truck; and listening to his music collection. Visitation will be one hour prior to the noon memorial service, Saturday, March 21, 2015 at First United Methodist Church, 214 S. 5th St., Goshen. According to Warren's wishes, he will be cremated at Yoder-Culp Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to First United Methodist Church, IU Health Goshen Hospital or the Greencroft Foundation.
