Wanda M. Welling

November 17, 1932 — October 8, 2010

Wanda M. Welling, 77, went to be with the Lord Friday morning, October 8, 2010, in her home in Goshen.  She had been ill since February of this year. She was born in Marshall County, West Virginia, on November 17, 1932, to George and Bessie Lou (Hartley) Strait. They preceded her in death.  She married Floyd Welling on June 15, 1952, in Oakland, Maryland.  He survives. A resident of the area since 1965, Wanda was a homemaker and devoted to her Savior, Jesus Christ.  She was an avid cook and hosted countless people in her home over the years.  She enjoyed nature as well. She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Welling of Mexico City, Mexico and Dana (David) Derrickson of Mishawaka;  four sons, George (Tonya) Welling of Columbus, Ohio, Joe (Tammy) Welling, Gary Welling, and Tim (Lisa) Welling, all of Goshen; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Helen (Ross) Ducker and Janice (Roger) Holmes, both of Eaton, Colorado. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Friday, October 15, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and from 1-2 p.m., Saturday, October 16, at Grace Community Church.   A  2 p.m., Saturday, October 16,  funeral service will be held at Grace Community Church of Goshen with Pastor Jim Brown officiating. Cremation will take place after the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Care at Home Hospice or United Cancer Services of Elkhart County.
