Wanda June Giddens, 85, of Goshen, died peacefully late Thursday morning at her home. She was born October 8, 1926, in Jackson County, Indiana, to the late George and Lula (Lucus) Robertson. She is survived by her sons and their families; John Steven and Susan, Kokomo and their son, Kevin; Howard R. Jr. and Tucker, Wilmington, Del. and their children, Troy and Maggie; Timothy A. , Goshen, and his children, Jessica and Chris; and David and Lisa, Goshen and their children, Katheryn and Julia; four great-grandchildren; her brother, Ward and sisters, Ona Mae and Mary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard R. Giddens; and her sister, Wilma. Wanda and her husband raised their sons in Indiana, Ohio, Hong Kong, Taiwan, the Philippines, Arizona and Texas. Her life was always focused on Howard and their four sons. Cooking, bridge, Ikebana flower arranging and church participation were her companions and provided easy avenues for introductions to new friends in each of the communities where the family lived, including here in Goshen for the past seven. From annual cheese ball preparations and flower arranging at St. James Episcopal Church, to her bridge groups, and time with grand children and their activities, she enjoyed her days in Goshen as much as any of the other communities where she lived. She was also able to reconnect with RN classmates from St. Vincent's Nursing school in Indianapolis. Friends may call 12 to 4 p.m., Sunday, June 17, 2012, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 4 p.m., funeral service will be conducted. Rev. Larry Biller will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. James Episcopal Church or Goshen Hospice.
