Wanda A. Elliott Alwine

Wanda A. Elliott Alwine, 96, of Goshen, passed away Friday morning, January 24, 2014, at Greencroft Healthcare. She was born in LaGrange County September 6, 1917 to John Franklin and Florence (Stout) Bull. Mrs. Alwine is survived by two daughters, Mary Jane (Michael) Crabille, and Victoria "Vicki" (Ed) Diamond; two sons, Robert (Pam) Elliott and Dennis Lee (Esther) Alwine, all of Goshen; 11 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and two great-great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Herman R. Elliott and James Lloyd Alwine, a daughter, Constance Kay Boldgett; a son, Richard Elliott and three sisters, Alice Bowser, Berdena McCahale and Wanetah Sharp. A Goshen resident since the age of 16, Mrs. Alwine worked at the Jack n Jill Shoppe, Goshen and then in the children's department at Kline's, Goshen, until retiring in 1982. She was a member of LifePoint Church, Goshen. A very friendly person, she never knew a stranger and welcomed all with open arms. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Thursday, at the church. An 11 a.m., Thursday, January 30, 2014, funeral service will be conducted at LifePoint Church of God, Goshen. Pastor Troy Scott will officiate. Burial will follow at West Goshen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Elkhart County Humane Society or LifePoint Church.
