Walter Shidler, 94, of Goshen, died Thursday morning, February 11, 2016 at I.U. Health Goshen Hospital.
He was born November 2, 1921 in Goshen to Ira J. and Fannie “Fern” (Elliott) Shidler.
On March 14, 1942 he married Treva Lechlitner.
She survives along with two children, Marilyn Ratliff of Laguna Niguel, California and Jerry D. (Carol) Shidler of Goshen; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Ronald Ratliff; a sister, Lena Carpenter and four brothers, Frank, Harry, Roy and John Shidler.
A lifelong Goshen resident, Mr. Shidler worked at Goshen Milk, a division of Orville Milk Company, for more than 40 years.
He was a member of West Goshen Church of the Brethren and was an avid bowler in the Maple Leaf City Bowling League. He also enjoyed gardening and in later years, playing solitaire.
Friends may call Wednesday, February 17, 2016, from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Norm Replogle will officiate.
Burial will follow in West Goshen Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to West Goshen Church of the Brethren.
