Walter William Long, 95, of Goshen, died early Tuesday evening, September 28, 2010, at Goshen General Hospital. He was born January 16, 1915, in Clinton Township of Elkhart County to the late Arthur and Elva (Martin) Long. He married Mildred Stroup on April 8, 1950. She died March 12, 2006. He is survived by a daughter, Sharon (Edward) Wright of Goshen; six grandsons; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Chauncey Long and Arthur Long, Jr.; and a sister, Ruby Blough. Mr. Long worked as a general foreman at Conroth Corporation in Bristol. A World War II veteran, he graduated from Millersburg High School in 1933 and was a member of First United Church of Christ and the Goshen VFW. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, October 4, 2010 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A private family graveside service will be conducted at Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be given to the Goshen VFW Post #985.
