Walter Edward Harroff, 89, of Goshen, died early Monday morning, September 3, 2007, at Greencroft Healthcare after a short illness. He was born in Noble County, Indiana, on September 21, 1917, to Wilbur B. and Caroline Juanita (Miltenberger) Harroff. He married Elma Lucile Bowers in 1940. She preceded him. A member of the Creekside Church of the Brethren, Mr. Harroff worked as a manager at the Elkhart area Indiana Employment Security Division (IESD). He is survived by two sons, Stephen (Susan) Harroff of Auburn and William (Charlotte) Harroff of Edwardsville, Illinois; two daughters, Vicki (David R.) Junkins of Downingtown, Pennsylvania, and Cynthia (William) Karn of Goshen; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty (Elmer) Phend of Goshen. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elma Lucile. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, September 7, at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church. A 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 8, 2007, funeral service will be held at the Creekside Church of the Brethren. Pastors Norman Replogle of the Pine Creek Church of the Brethren and David Bibbee of the Creekside Church of the Brethren will officiate. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mizpah Shrine Hospital for Children or Creekside Church of the Brethren.
