Walter L. Bowman, 90, of Goshen, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Goshen Hospital.
He was born June 14, 1933 in Middlebury to Noble and Ethel (Eisenhour) Bowman.
On June 28, 1958, he married Anna Wisler.
She survives along with two children, Kathy (Gary) Huffman of Indianapolis and Doug Bowman of Fort Wayne; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and three siblings, Janice Bizzari of Bloomington, Clair (Nellie) Bowman of McCall, Idaho and Ronald (Susan) Bowman of West Grove, Pennsylvania.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two siblings, Wilbur Bowman and Berniece Douma.
A family man, he was a member of the New Paris Church of the Brethren where he previously served as a deacon and an usher. He loved spending time with his family, bowling and eating pie and ice cream.
A lifetime farmer and John Deere man, he planted many trees and enjoyed caring for them. He was a former member of the New Paris Lions Club.
Mr. Bowman retired from Fairfield Jr./Sr. High School where he worked as a groundskeeper and custodian. Previously he had worked for Goshen Milk.
Visitation will be Friday, December 29, 2023, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and Saturday, December 30, 2023, from 9 until the 10 a.m. funeral service at New Paris Church of the Brethren.
Burial will follow in Rock Run Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given to the New Paris Church of the Brethren.
