Walter Lorain Boshart, 96 of Goshen died Friday morning, February 27, 2009 at Greencroft Healthcare. He was born to Amos and Abbie (Scott) Boshart on May 30, 1912 in Wayland, Iowa. He married Beverly Miller in 1999, she survives. He is survived by one daughter, Jean (William) Stucky of Goshen; two sons, James (Betty Jo) Boshart of Atoka, Tennessee, and Richard (Cathy) Boshart of Lebanon, Pennsylvania; one stepson, Lane Lewallen of Wheatland, Indiana; and one brother, Edwin (Ruth) Boshart of Shaumburg, Illinois. Walter was preceded in death by his first wife Maritta and second wife Ferne; one sister, Constance Wainwright; and two brothers, Maurice and Robert Boshart. He was a long time member of Eighth Street Mennonite Church and the National and Regional Piano Technician’s Guild. Known as the “piano’s friend” he tuned piano for many local patrons. He was the piano technician for many local school corporations including, Concord, South Bend, Elkhart and Middlebury. He was also the piano technician for Morris Civic Auditorium in South Bend and many of their famous guest artists. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2009 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. Brenda Sawatsky Paetkau of Eighth Street Mennonite Church will officiate. A private burial will precede the service in Forrest Grove Cemetery in Middlebury. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Eighth Street Mennonite Church or Care at Home Hospice.
