Vlasta Jantzi, 90, of Goshen, passed away Tuesday afternoon, November 24, 2015, at Greencroft Healthcare.
She was born June 15, 1925 in Glina, Croatia to Simon and Lubica (Pletikosich) Cvitanovic.
On June 19, 1965 she married Glendon C. Jantzi in Long Island New York.
He survives along with their daughter, Mona Jantzi and husband, Matthew Conner of London, United Kingdom and two grandchildren, Duncan and Scarlett.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Nevenka and two brothers, Milivoj and Btanimir.
Mrs. Jantzi moved to Goshen in 2010, coming from Staten Island where she taught music in the New York public schools for 20 years and at College of Staten Island for ten years.
Mrs. Jantzi earned both a bachelor and master’s degree from Manhattan School of Music. In addition to teaching, she was a very well known vocalist of widespread acclaim and had performed in many different venues within the New York City area.
In keeping with Mrs. Jantzi’s wishes cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory.
A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, Dec. 19, at 11 a.m. at Eighth Street Mennonite Church where she was a member. Pastors Brenda Sawatzky Paetkau and Julia Gingrich will officiate.
