Vivian E. Wilfong, 87, of Goshen, died Thursday afternoon, November 20, 2014, at Courtyard Healthcare. She was born July 8, 1927 in Goshen to Horace and Doris (Kehr) Miller. On September 28, 1945 she married Charles D. Wilfong in Elkhart. He died December 22, 2009. Survivors include three sons, Harold (Barbara) Wilfong, Philip (Roberta) Wilfong and Kim (Sue) Wilfong, all of Goshen; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three sisters, Norma Jean Weldy, Beatrice Madlem and Virginia Chokey. A lifetime area resident, Mrs. Wilfong, graduated from Goshen High School in 1945. Mrs. Wilfong was a member of First Brethren Church, New Paris. She was the secretary/treasurer of Hodgson Ace Hardware for 35 years. She was well known for giving shelter to abused animals. Friends may call Tuesday, November 25, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 1 p.m., funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, November 26, 2014. Pastor Jeff Estep, First Brethren Church, New Paris will officiate. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery.
