Virginia Mae (Hartzler) Spry, 68, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, passed away Monday, October 18, 2021, at The Neighborhood Life Plan Community outside Albuquerque, New Mexico.
"Ginny," as everyone called her, was born April 10, 1953, in Goshen, to Mahlon and Alma (Heatwole) Hartzler. She attended Jefferson High School from 1967 - 1971. Ginny enjoyed the company of others and was always available as a listening ear. She worked as a waitress and later as a nursing home care giver where her customers and residents loved her positive and friendly disposition. Even during her last year at The Neighborhood, she was adored by her own caregivers who said she was always ready to share a smile and laughter.
In addition to her parents, Ginny was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael Lee Miller and her sister, Jan (Hartzler) Miller.
Ginny is survived by two children from her previous marriage to Elva Dean Miller, including her daughter, Shelly (Sean) Easley of Arlington Texas, and her son, Daryl (Deborah) Miller of Goshen. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Kendrick (Jalee), Jack, Emma, and Dean; a brother and sister-in-law, Herman and MaryAnn Hartzler; a sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Kevin Miller, as well as several nieces and nephews. Ginny is also survived by her former spouse, Robert A. Spry.
A small service will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at Clinton Frame Church, 63846 C.R. 35, Goshen. She will later be laid to rest in a private burial at Violett Cemetery, Goshen, next to her son Michael.
