Virginia A. "Ginny" Nichols, 57, of Goshen went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly Saturday, September 20, 2014, at I.U. Health Goshen Hospital, following surgery on Thursday, September 18, 2014. She was born January 16, 1957 in Goshen to Ralph Lowell Fisher and Beverly (Rowdabaugh) Fisher Yoder. On November 28, 1987 she married Dorn Nichols at Rock Run Church of the Brethren. He survives along with her mother, a step-son, Brad Nichols, two sisters and a brother. Ginny was a 1975 graduate of Fairfield High School and attended Bethel College in Mishawaka. She was a current member of Granger Community Church and former member of Sugar Grove Church and Rock Run Church of the Brethren. She was president and co-founder, along with her husband, of Gindor Inc. Mrs. Nichols was very active in the community serving on the Elkhart County Fair Board for 18 years and as president in 2004. She also served on the Elkhart County 4-H Club Corporation and Extension Board. Ginny was a member of the Elkhart County Extension Homemakers Club, and Maplecrest and Bent Oak Country Clubs. She was a 4-H leader for more than 30 years and also coached 8th grade girls basketball and volleyball at Fairfield Jr. High School. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, singing and playing the piano. A Friday, September 26, 2014 graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. at Violett Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home to go in procession to the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Elkhart County 4-H Club Corporation.
