Virginia "Ginny" Ellen Yoder

Virginia “Ginny” Ellen Yoder, 80, of Goshen, died Tuesday afternoon, January 4, 2011, at Elkhart General Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Elkhart County on May 16, 1930, to the late Cecil and Virgie (Whitt) Rich.  She married Leroy “Pete” O. Yoder on March 23, 1946, in Elkhart.  He survives. Also surviving are children, Vickie Martin of Atlanta, Georgia, Ken (Jodi) Yoder of Union, Michigan, Sally Yoder of Peru, and Sherry (Terry) Large of Elkhart; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Carl (Marilyn) Rich of South Bend, and Robert (Connie) Rich of Goshen. She was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Beck. An active member of Dunlap United Methodist Church, Mrs. Yoder sang in the choir and volunteered for many church activities.  She enjoyed traveling to Hawaii and Alaska and spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She was devoted to her great-grandchildren. She owned and operated Hilltop Beauty Shop for 18 years. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, January 6, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and from 10-11 a.m., Friday, January 7, 2011, at the Dunlap United Methodist Church where an 11 am funeral service will be conducted.  Dr. Joseph Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in Frame Cemetery, Elkhart. Memorials may be given to Breast Cancer Awareness.
