Violet “Jean” Perry, 91, of Goshen, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017 at Goshen Hospital.
She was born on March 12, 1925 in Elkhart to Joseph V. and Hazel M. (Holderman) Weaver.
On June 8, 1945, she married Robert “Bob” Dale Perry. He died February 1, 1981.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Lois Weaver of Goshen; four children, Nancy Richardson of Goshen, Connie (Roger) Gosser of Savannah, Texas, Douglas (Jill) Perry of Goshen, and Diana (Gina Fragomeni) Perry of Elkhart; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lavene “Shorty” Weaver, and a sister, Loretta Grover.
Jean graduated in 1943 from Concord High School. She, along with late husband, Bob Perry, was inducted into the first class of the Athletic Hall of Fame at Concord High School.
Jean retired from Selmer.
She enjoyed pontoon rides at the lake, watching birds and sports, and anything with the color pink. She loved playing cards and dominoes. She loved to laugh and spend time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation for family and friends will be Monday, March 6, 2017 from 11 to noon at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 12:30 p.m. funeral service will be held.
A private family burial will follow at Rice Cemetery, Elkhart.
Memorial contributions may be given to Goshen Home Care and Hospice or the Elkhart Luncheon Optimist Club.
