Violet Ruth Hill, 91, of Wakarusa, died Thursday evening, December 7, 2006, at Miller’s Merry Manor. She was born in St. Joseph, Missouri, on January 29, 1915, to Bert and Bessie (Miller) Wilson. On September 14, 1933, in Kansas City, Kansas, she married Aubrey Franklin Hill. He died July 22, 1992. Mrs. Hill, a life member of the First Christian Church of Kansas City, Kansas, worked for Colgate-Palmolive Company in Kansas City, Kansas for 25 years before retiring in 1972. She moved to Goshen in 1982. She is survived by a daughter, Beverly (Robert) Brown of Elkhart; two grandsons; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Imogene Conkling of Kansas City, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey; five sisters and three brothers. Friends will be received 10 – 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2006, at the Maple Hill Funeral Home in Kansas City, Kansas. An 11:00 a.m. funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2006, at the Maple Hill Funeral Home, Kansas City, Kansas. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be given to the Fisher Center for Alzheimers Research, One Intrepid Center, West 46th and 12th Ave., New York, NY, 10036.
