Viola A. Keim, 89, of Goshen, died early Sunday afternoon, December 14, 2008, at Elkhart General Hospital Emergency Room from injuries suffered in an auto accident. She was born in Nappanee, Indiana, on April 24, 1919, to Noah and Saloma (Leinbach) Welty. She married Walter Keim on February 14, 1987 in Goshen. He died December 14, 2008. A lifetime area resident, except for ten years in North Judson, Mrs. Keim worked at Brethren in Christ Publishing Company for 37 years. She also worked at Goshen Stamping and Tool and Welty Bonnet Shop. She was a member of Salem Mennonite Church; attended South Union Fellowship; and volunteered at World Missionary Press. She is survived by 13 nieces and nephews; eight step-grandchildren; and 21 step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Ray, Nelson, Virgil and Everett Welty; and a nephew. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, December 18, at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. A 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 19, 2008 memorial service will be conducted at the Toto Mennonite Church in Toto, Indiana. Pastor Paul Newcomer and Bishop Arlo Schmidt will officiate. A graveside service will be held at 9:00 a.m., Friday, December 19, 2008, at Salem Mennonite Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to World Missionary Press or Toto Mennonite Church or to the donor’s choice.
