Viola Harshberger, 98, Millersburg, and formerly of Goshen, died Saturday afternoon, February 27, 2010, at the home of her daughter, Violet Peachy.  She was born June 30, 1911, in Middlebury, Ito Rudy and Fannie (Miller) Kauffman.  married Leo Harshberger on March 7, 1937, in Middlebury.  He preceded her on October 17, 1977. A lifetime area resident, Mrs. Harshberger was a homemaker and co-owner of Harshberger Insulation, and along with her husband, farmed north of Goshen.  She enjoyed flowers and quilting.  A member of Pleasant View Mennonite Church, she was active in Women's Mennonite Fellowship and taught Bible School. She is survived by 3 daughters, Mary Louise Jones of White Cloud, Michigan, Violet (Robert) Peachy of Millersburg, and Jane Arlene (Elva) Yoder of Goshen; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and a brother, Marion (Lydia) Kauffman, of Middlebury. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ida Ellen; a son, Ray Lee Harshberger; a grandson, Rodney Allan Peachy; three sisters, Ida, Barbara, and Mary; and three brothers, Monroe, Melvin, and Milo.  Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 2, at the funeral home and one hour prior to service at the church. A 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 3, 2010, funeral service will be conducted at Pleasant View Mennonite Church, Goshen with Pastors Ron Diener and Tyler Hartford officiating. Burial will follow in Miller 8 Square Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be made to the Sewing Circle c/o Peasant View Mennonite Church.
