Vincent S. Snyder, 81, of Goshen, died Wednesday evening, October 17, 2007, at his home. He was born April 18, 1926, in Ashley, Michigan, to Vernon and Mamie (Smith) Snyder.  He married Ruby Yoder on December 29, 1950 in Allensville, Pennsylvania.  She survives. A Goshen resident since 1961, Mr. Snyder was a member of the North Goshen Mennonite Church.  He graduated from both Goshen College and Goshen Biblical Seminary.  He volunteered with Mennonite Disaster Service and The Depot.  He participated in the Christian Medical and Dental Society.  He was a former member of the Goshen Exchange Club. He worked as manager at Sears Catalog Store in Goshen; as a salesman for Warsaw Chemical and was currently employed at John Hall’s True Value Hardware. He is survived by his wife, Ruby; eight children, Judy (Gregg Nussbaum) Snyder, Douglas (Kimberly) Snyder and Carol (antonym) Unzicker, all of Goshen, James (Elaine) Snyder of New Carlisle, Ohio, Ellen (Michael, II) Summy of Bristol, Terry (Pamela) Snyder of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, Janice (George, Jr.) Alexenko of Lisle, Illinois, Bruce (Cheryl) Snyder of Millersburg; two foster sons, John Bagley of Middleton, Connecticut, and Leonard Davis of Goshen; 29 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.  He is also survived by three brothers, John (Nona) Snyder of Hesston, Kansas, Clifford (Donna) Snyder of Ashley, Michigan, and Gaylord (Ann) Snyder of Jefferson, North Carolina; a sister, Carolyn Ely, of St. Johns, Michigan; and a sister-in-law, Betty Snyder of Goshen. He was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Snyder. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, October 20, at North Goshen Mennonite Church. A 3:30 p.m., Sunday, October 21, 2007, memorial service will be conducted at North Goshen Mennonite Church.  Rev. Dean Linsenmeyer will officiate. Burial will be in Yellow Creek Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Children International.
