Victor L. Schwartz

Victor L. Schwartz, 84, of Elkhart, died at his daughter’s home Monday afternoon, January 17, 2011. He was born October 29, 1926 in New Haven to the late Samuel and Leah (Delagrange) Schwartz.  He married Agnes Eicher on September 5, 1946, in Fort Wayne.  She died March 16, 2006. Surviving are three daughters, Rosa (Richard) Dirmyer of Elkhart, Mary (Roger) Andersen of Stockton, California, and Miriam (Rick) Gustin of Harlan, Indiana; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Albert (Darlene) Schwartz and Samuel (Lois) Schwartz; and two sisters, Rose (Joe) Schwartz and Leah (Jake) Schwartz. He was preceded in death by three daughters, Ann Phillips, Lillian Schwartz and Rebecca Schwartz; three brothers, Noah, Elmer and Henry Schwartz; and three sisters, Ruth Graber, Mae Schwartz and Esther Eicher. Mr. Schwartz worked in new home construction and was a member of Silverwood Mennonite Church, Goshen. Friends may call 10 to 12:30 p.m., Saturday, January 22, 2011, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 1:00 p.m. funeral service will be conducted.  Pastor Ronald Guengerich of Silverwood Mennonite Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elkhart Prairie Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be made to Elkhart Center for Hospice Care or Silverwood Mennonite Church.
