Vicki Lynn Lehman

Vicki Lynn Lehman, 60, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday morning, April 17, 2016, at Hospice House.

She was born December 30, 1955 in Goshen to Glenwood “Jake” and Marjorie (Stealy) Schrock.

On April 5, 1980 she married Leland “Lee” Lehman in Goshen.

He survives along with a daughter, Julie (John) Eaton of Elkhart, a son, Jason (Lindy) Lehman of Goshen, her parents, Jake and Marjorie Schrock of Goshen; three grandchildren, Taylor Lynn and Tinley Madison Lehman and Emery Victoria Eaton and a sister, Sue (Neal) Graves of Goshen.

Vicki was a busy woman. She was always running errands, checking in on her grandkids, checking in on her parents, and just keeping the roads hot. Her favorite pastime was shopping. She could shop like no other and found all the bargains that could be found. She always found things that we all “needed” even before we knew we “needed” them.

She was the ultimate caregiver. Her husband, kids, grandkids and family were always her main focus and always put everyone else before herself.  Once she was an empty nester she still managed to fill her days caring for other children and the elderly.  Not only was she a big part of her own family but she was a big part of the families she cared for as well.

A major part of her focus became helping others through support and advocacy with two cancer organizations, Say YES to HOPE and Imerman’s Angels.  She made many friends and helped countless individuals with her involvement.  YES gave her so many amazing opportunities such as lobbying on Capitol Hill for early scans, attending celebrity award shows and promote survivor support at medical conferences held throughout the country.  Those that she met through these organizations became some of her closest friends and they continued to give her support and motivation every day.

Vicki loved life and family. She truly was the best.

Friends may call Wednesday, April 20, 2016, from 5 to 7 p.m. and again Thursday, April 21, from 9:30 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service, all at Creekside Church of the Brethren, 60455 C.R. 113, Elkhart.  Pastors Rosanna McFadden and Norm Replogle will officiate.

A private family burial will take place at West Goshen Cemetery.
