Verton Daniel Coblentz

Verton D. Coblentz, 77, of Goshen, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Waterford Crossing Health Campus after a two-month battle with cancer.

He was born May 9, 1946 in Iowa City, Iowa to Mose and Elizabeth (Borntrager) Coblentz.

He married Sharon Mishler on March 4, 1967 in Middlebury.

She survives along with two sons, Lonnie (Sue) Coblentz of Middlebury and Troy Coblentz of Goshen; two grandchildren, Justin and Sara Coblentz and two brothers, Mose (Martha) Coblentz, Jr. of Middlebury and LaVerne (Beverly) Coblentz of Wakarusa.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Coblentz.

Verton was a member of LifePoint Church. His hobbies included John Deere club and model train club.

He retired from Elkhart County Gravel in 2016.  He had also worked for Fidler’s Concrete for 29 years as a manager of the gravel department.

Visitation will be Monday, November 20, 2023, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  There will also be visitation on Tuesday, November 21, from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. funeral service at LifePoint Church, 1006 S 16th St, Goshen.  Pastor Anthony Cottrell will officiate.

Burial will follow in Miller 8 Square Cemetery.
