Vernon James Ratliff

Vernon James Ratliff, 62, of Goshen, died Tuesday afternoon, August 4, 2009, at Goshen General Hospital. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, on August 14, 1946, to the late Woodrow and Madie (Hampton) Ratliff.  Mr. Ratliff worked as a welder and was a past member of the Church of God, Goshen. He is survived by five daughters, Elizabeth Sue Hilson of Columbus, Ohio, Stacy Lee Merrill, of Inkster, Michigan, Mindy Marie Ratliff and Mandy Michele Ratliff , both of Rochester, and Tammy Lynn Berebitsky of South Bend; a son, Vernon James Ratliff of Southfield, Michigan; eight sisters, Carolyn V. Adkins of Goshen, Sharon J. Douglas of Elkhart, Penny (Dallas) Damron of Middlebury, Delphia (Bill) Reynolds of Vernon, Alabama, Sandy (Gerald) Rohn of Goshen, Mary (Carl) Smith of Melvindale, Michigan, April Salas of Elkhart, and Dialene (Bill) Irelan of Elkhart; and one brother, Roger Ratliff of New Jersey. He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother. Private family services will be conducted.
