Vernon Thomas Mace

August 24, 1950 — August 22, 2024

Goshen

Vernon Thomas Mace, 73, of Goshen, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by loved ones.

He was born August 24, 1950 in Murray, Utah to Guy Donald Mace and Nelda Laverne (Park) Mace. He grew up in Crescent Utah, where he shared many fond memories with his brother and sister. They grew up in a rural area where they could play outside and run wild.  Much of Vern's teenage years were spent playing music in a band. He graduated from Jordan High School.  His love for playing music continued into his early twenties.

Vern was very patriotic and showed his love for his country by joining the Military Armed Forces in 1970. After leaving the military, Vern was a land surveyor out West, including Wyoming and Texas.  He moved to Goshen and worked for JPR (Jones Petrie Rafinski) as a Land Surveyor and as a Site Inspector for the Engineering department from April 1991 to July 2014 when he retired.

Vern was known for his kind, gentle spirit and willingness to help someone in need.  He was also known for his musical talent with his beautiful voice and was an awesome drummer. He enjoyed playing golf, listening to music and loved his family. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing and the beautiful mountains out west.

Vern is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Rose Mace, along with a large beautiful family. He is also survived by three sons, Dustin (Carolina) Hicks, Texas, Corby Guy (Sharla) Mace, Utah, Noah (Amber) Riehl, Goshen; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren (Autumn, Bethany, Declan, Jeric, Macen, Mackenzie, McCall, Noah, September, Stella, and Scottee); a brother, Ronald Guy (Shauna) Mace, Utah; and a sister, LaDean Mace, Utah.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Vern will be forever in our hearts.
