Vernon J. Frey, 92, of Sebring, Florida and also of Goshen, died early Sunday morning, January 10, 2016, at Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Center, Sebring, following multiple heart attacks.
He was born May 6, 1923 in LaGrange County to Simon and Fannie (Miller) Frey.
On October 28, 1944 he married Gladys Berdine Bates in Goshen.
She survives along with a daughter, Yvonne (Daniel) Schwartz of Wolcottville and Sebring, Florida and a sister, Darlene Martin of Goshen.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mamie Bontrager and Sue Colagross and four brothers, Ed, Irvin, Harley and Owen Frey.
Vernon was a part-time farmer and worked at Starcraft Marine for many years. He was a member of Sebring Church of the Brethren.
Cremation will take place.
The family plans to have a memorial service and burial at Rock Run Cemetery at a later date.
