Vernon L. Campbell, 92, of Goshen, died Saturday, January 11, 2020, at Goshen Hospital.
He was born March 8, 1927 in Colorado and moved to Clay County in 1930.
In 1948 he married Edith Leckrone. She died in 2002. In 2005 he married Barbara J. Stookey.
She survives along with four sons, Mike Campbell of Fort Wayne, Steve (Anne) Campbell of Indianapolis, Bob (Darle) Campbell of Duluth, Georgia and Dan (Candi) Campbell of North Manchester; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild and a brother, David Campbell of Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Alfred and Lula Viola (Heston) Campbell; first wife, Edith and three brothers, Henry, Glenn and Phillip Campbell.
A graduate of Manchester College and Ball State University, Mr. Campbell worked in the Warsaw Schools for 39 years with 18 of those years as principal of McKinley School.
A loving family man, he loved the Lord. He had a lifetime interest in mission work and made six trips to carry Bibles into China. His hobbies included birding and fishing.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 16, 2020, from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastors Jim Dreier and Steve Chupp of Harvest Community Church will officiate.
Burial will follow in Felkner Cemetery, Milford.
Memorial donations may be given to the Harvest Community Church Mission Fund.
