Verne Lee Ebersole

Verne L. Ebersole, 67, of Middlebury, died unexpectedly Saturday noon, November 5, 2011, at IU Health Goshen Hospital. He was born August 13, 1944 in Dixon, Illinois to Everett and Dorothy (Book) Ebersole. He married Marjorie Fry on May 10, 1969 in Goshen. She survives. Also surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Nicole Ebersole of Wolcottville: a daughter, Shane Ebersole of Winterville, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Kayla, Josh, Jared and twins, Nicolas and Noah; and three sisters, Nancy (John) Ebersole of Millageville, Illinois, Janice (Don) Calsyn of Greenfield, Massachusetts, and Marcia (Bruce) Jackson of Sterling, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sharon Graybill and her husband, Robert, in 2009. An area resident since his college days, Mr. Ebersole worked as a press operator at Smoker Craft for 15 years. A graduate of Sterling High School, he attended Goshen College. He enjoyed camping, running around in his golf cart, and the company of family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, November 8, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2011, funeral service will be conducted. Pastor Terry Tyler of Grace Point Presbyterian Church, Nappanee, will officiate. Cremation will follow the funeral service. Memorial donations may be given to Autism Research.
