Veda "Libby" Christner

Veda "Libby" E. Christner, 94, of Goshen, died Tuesday morning, February 5, 2013, at Greencroft Goshen Health Care where she was recovering from an accident. She was born June 12, 1918 in LaGrange County to Atlee "Pink" and Eva Rue (Donat) Wemple. She married Verlo E. Christner in 1938 in LaGrange County. She is survived by a daughter, Vicky Christner of Goshen; four grandchildren, Mitzi Jaenichen of Elkhart, Melanie (Mark) Farver of Goshen, Mark Mickem of Topeka and Mick Mickem of Syracuse; nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; a daughter, Mary Ruth Mickem, and a sister, Dorothy Myers. A lifetime resident of the area, she worked at Turner Pharmacy and Combined Insurance Agency in Topeka. She enjoyed many activities including travelling, camping, mushroom hunting, and knitting. She was also a great cook! Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, February 10, 2013, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory, with burial at Eden Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to Riley's Children's Hospital or the MS Foundation.
