V. Pauline (Yoder) Kauffman, 91, of Goshen, died early Tuesday morning, February 25, 2014, at Greencroft Gables. She was born November 27, 1922 to Rufus T., founder of Yoder Popcorn, and Modella (Mishler) Yoder, in LaGrange County. On November 7, 1943 she married Ralph A. Yoder. He passed away April 18, 1959. She is survived by their three children, Janis (Jim) Erb of Roanoke, Virginia, Phyllis (Nelson) Gehman of Leola, Pennsylvania and Myron (Sheila) Yoder of Middlebury; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. On August 16, 1997, she married Francis LeRoy Kauffman. He passed away June 22, 2004. She is survived by two step-children, Larry (Pat) Kauffman of Goshen, and Merlin Kauffman of Arizona; seven step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Larry R. (Jan) Yoder and a step-brother, Frank Kauffman, both of Goshen; two brothers-in-law, Pete (Florence) Yoder of Middlebury and Merritt Yoder of Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pauline was devoted to her family and her faith-family at Forks Mennonite Church. During her lifetime she served others in many ways: on the deaf ministries advisory committee of the former Mennonite Board of Missions from 1977-1996; Mennonite Voluntary Service with disabled children in Arizona; summer activities program for deaf children of the Indiana Michigan Mennonite Conference; Forks Mennonite Church historical committee; singing with small groups; volunteering at Greencroft, and supporting many overseas missionaries. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, February 28, 2014, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 1, 2014, funeral service at Forks Mennonite Church, Middlebury. Burial will follow at Forest Grove Cemetery, Middlebury. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Deaf Ministries of College Mennonite Church, Goshen.
