USAF Ret. Lt. Col. Louis Wentworth LaGro, 83, of Goshen, died Tuesday evening, July 15, 2008, at his home.  He had been ill the past seven months. He was born on September 21, 1924, in White Pigeon, Michigan, to Frank and Belle (Wood) LaGro.  He married Jeanne Catton in 1942, Barbara Martin in 1953, and Darlene Cope in 1985. Mr. LaGro, an Air Force officer, holds the Distinguished Flying Cross, Airman’s Medal, Bronze Star with one oak leaf cluster, Air Medal with two oak leaf clusters, USAF Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Republic of Korea Chung Mood Medal and Chung Moo Medal with Silver Star. He is survived by four children, Michael L. (Alice) Schmidt of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Mignon T. Benenati of Goshen, Patricia a. Stouder of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Louis C. LaGro of Chicago, Illinois; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Lottie palmer, Jane Burke and Grace Nichols. Friends may call 3 to 7 p.m., Monday, July 21, 2008, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 7:00 p.m., funeral service will be held.  Chaplain Joe Emmerth will officiate.  Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen, at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross.
