Troy was born October 13, 1946, in Cincinnati Ohio

Lovingly adopted by his Aunt, Anna Rose and her husband Condy Dabney.

Survived by his wife Janet L (Drummond) Dabney, children Donald (DJ) Grise, Cassandra (Terry) Ellsworth, Cherri (Paul) Smith, and Christopher (Michelle) Dabney. Three grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Predeceased by grandson Michael .

A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Dabney served from 1964 to 1967. After his honorable discharge, he spent time working for Western Rubber and Dexter Axle. Following retirement, he enjoyed working for the Elkhart County Parks Department and drove for a local businessman.

Troy enjoyed the company of two coffee groups he met with regularly. He was an avid classic car enthusiast, owning two of his own vintage Thunderbirds. He and Janet enjoyed travelling the country in their RV and participated in Pony Express events.

Services are planned for Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. prior to the 1 p.m. funeral service.

Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen with military honors.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts be directed to Shriners Hospital; https://www.shrinerschildrens.org/en/ways-to-give/donate or Grace Community Church,https://gracecommunity-church.com/ where Troy was a member.
