Tone Oy, 59 of Elkhart, died at 9:05 pm Friday at Valley View Healthcare Center, Elkhart. He had been ill with cancer since 2009. Tone was born in Plei Ku, Vietnam and came to this country in 1979. His American host family was Coalter M. and Katherine E. Longcor of Goshen. On May 8, 1982 at Bristol United Methodist Church he married Sineang Souen. She survives. Also surviving are three children; Sharon Oy, Elkhart, Tom Oy, Mishawaka, and Jerry Oy, Elkhart; three grandchildren, Hailey, Angelina, and Ella; three sisters, Sally (David) McFarren, New Paris, Tana Brooks, Goshen, Merry (Terry) Mast, Ligonier; three brothers, William (Judy) Longcor, Milford, Bryan (Amy) Gunn, Goshen and Dung Pham, Goshen. Mr. Oy worked at Homecrest Corp. for 15 years. From 1998-2008 he owned and operated Oy's Market, Elkhart, specializing in Asian foods. He had also attended Goshen City Church of the Brethren for a period of time. Friends may call on Saturday from 2 - 3:30 pm at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. Funeral services will begin at 3:30. Conducting services will be a pastor from Milford's Apostolic Christian Church. Burial will follow the service at Milford Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Ribbon of Hope.
